Street trees become the focus of a local walking route
What's happening
A short walking route links quieter residential streets with pockets of greenery around North Finchley.
Along the way
The route takes in mature street trees, a couple of small green verges and a stretch bordering Coppetts Wood, with points of interest marked out for anyone following it on foot.
The detail
The route was put together informally by local residents interested in the area's trees and green spaces, and is designed to take around 30–40 minutes at a gentle pace, starting and finishing close to North Finchley town centre.
A simple printed map is expected to be available from local community noticeboards, with the route also intended to double as a reminder to look after young street trees during dry spells.
